Fufkin Express
Reminds me of Canadian one hit Mashmakhan,
who I never would have discovered without the movie Festival
Express. Kick my ass! For those of you who don't know, Artie
Fufkin was the A&R Rep in Spinal Tap (played by fellow canuck
and Hammond player Paul
Schafer). Artie was a good guy, but sadly clueless....the disc/download
includes an Express, and an Experience, depending on your current
state of rock.
Hulk
Smash
While
the band was recording, a movie crew was outside blowing up cars in
downtown Hamilton for an upcoming Hulk
movie. Sadly, we never got to meet the Hulk... This tune starts
of in the blues funk vein, but the ship seems to be leaning starboard,
and ends up in Jamaica. I love the way Dino takes the melody while
I vamp away.
Durian Milkshake
In a hotel bar in Kuala Lumpur, a
bossa nova played by former Italian soccer hoodlums. I take every
opportunity I can to play accordian (even though I suck). In related
trivia, I know 4 people who have been nominated for a Grammy Award..and
two
of them play accordian!
